How to be a Workplace Influencer in a small business
One common issue spoken by so many small business owners is how difficult it is to find good employees! If I hear it once a week, I hear it 5x for certain! Younger people are not taught to work at a young age in so many cases, yet we expect them to get into the workforce and instantly be working dynamos. It isn’t really fair!
So this article speaks to those who work for small business and want some tips to accelerate in their job!
Top 10 list:
1. Arrive at the job early, 10 min minimum!
Have your breakfast eaten. Go to the bathroom before your shift starts.
2. Study your field off the job. Spend time sharpening your tool so on the job your time to perform is focused.
3. Focus on selling what your company sells, or does off the clock. Look for heavy hitters that can make your company soar above the competition.
4. Be a leader with ideas and share them with core management daily. Let them all know you are an A player on the job and off.
5. Notice possible injury situations or loss areas and fix them. Ex: Ice on the concrete out front, wet floors/spills, the trash that is full. Dogs coming into your work area, or people entering work area with dogs.
6. Be mindful of a new client or new business opportunities and tell your management or boss about those.
7. Improve processes anytime you can, time is all we have so be mindful of how you can save time or increase production in the time you have whether it is phone calls or widgets you are producing.
8. Watch out for threats to your business. Whether it is competition or someone within your business. Report these scenarios to management or the owner.
9. Approach management with ways to 10X your company revenue or income.
10. Always tell the truth and always make eye contact when speaking to anyone in business, one on one.
