Immigrant Mentality & Small Business.
Immigrant mentality. Being poor it’s often the same. Barriers removed foot on the pedal, using all opportunities .. and never be afraid to go “ghetto”. Drive a $4k car until your business is rolling and you can buy whatever it is you want to drive! I am car girl .. I look at cars like most ladies look at diamonds yet I see them as a sense of freedom.
I believe in and thrive in small business. If I leave a legacy behind, it will be for my support of the small business. I struggled with building a bigger business, which over time was what I faced. Fast and hard and more tired at 50 than ever. I had to put my business in high heels. Women struggle with seeing a $1 million dollar idea much less and $100 m idea. It is a serious flaw! Look at your idea, is it a regional idea .. or can it be global? Can tech and media make it explode?
Personal Development. Put that on your goal sheet. Put a list by your bed at night and read it each morning while you’re at it. Is it starting a new business, repairing a relationship or just making better use of tomorrow? Is it a new car or a vacation? Spend time and money on yourself. Follow the people who are in the shoes you want to wear! Aim high. Then aim higher.
New business idea. Look local, what is a need that needs to be filled? Can you monetize that need? The level of pain you remove or the joy you bring .. equates to the level of pay you receive. Look regional, national and global. Build a plan and decide if scaling is an option. Find mentors who can help you. Even if those mentors are the Grant Cardone, Daymond John, Ryan Deiss’ of the world. Mentors don’t have to be local. If your business is unique, it may not make sense to them anyway. Selling is always THE game. Seek and FIND media attention.
Discipline is the ultimate game-changer. It is one of the few things you can control. Work ethic runs into the discipline game. No one can outwork you, that makes you feel pride. BUT take breaks, have a life and enjoy your entrepreneurial journey.
Examine your daily routine, this is your discipline. Outline the steps you spend time each day. Time Management is the ultimate ruler in success. Doing things others won’t. Grind your way to the path that will make you money then delegate those tasks while you monitor and keep your tools sharpened. Your focus should always be how you can make $100k today. How you can build an empire you can leave a legacy with.
Work smarter: Plan your week out on Sunday, in broad strokes. Where are the biggest opportunities waiting for you at? How can you make 25 phone calls this week that will be a game-changer for your business? Roll out a phone script that gets attention without promising results you can’t pull off.
Turn off your phone, if it is wasting your time. Don’t think multitasking isn’t potentially robbing you of time. FOCUS on priority items. Measure results not time invested. Take breaks. Have a routine. Celebrate victories every day, grab your friends and celebrate the day! Get rid of friends who are not your biggest cheerleaders, who you never see helping you succeed.
